Group Coaching

Transcend’s Group Coaching focuses on groups of like people, such as mid level managers from across the organization, who share a common context and need. Group coaching leverages the benefits of coaching within a supportive group setting. Individuals who wish to pursue group coaching must have a common goal or objective to participate. The coach acts as a facilitator and guides the group’s learning process.

The coaching process starts with an initial exploratory meeting with each group coaching participant to learn more about that person and to understand what the needs are. The coach then takes that information and designs a coaching program that is customized to the group. The group meets on a regular basis, either in person or virtually to discuss the topic of the day. Each participant is expected to discuss his or her learning or growth need, as well as contribute to the discussion of others' needs. A basic premise that underlies group coaching is that each individual offers a different persepective on the situation and this is valuable in order for the client to address his or her issue. At the start of each session, each participant is expected to provide an update on progress since the last session. Upon conclusion of the program, a final debrief meeting is held in order to review the results of the coaching program and to discuss ways for the client to reinforce and sustain the changes that have been made.
